We had some poppadoms, a chicken pakora and a chicken tikka starter followed by a chicken pathia and a chicken bhuna. We also had plain naan and some pilau rice on the side. I must admit it was beautiful. The pathia has got to be the best I've had. The pakoras were also a very pleasant surprise as they were lightly coated which meant you could still enjoy the chicken. If you are visiting Alnwick I would highly recommend a good meal here.
We've just had a really lovely meal at Mumbai of Alnwick. We're on a few days break in Northumberland and I'd checked out the reviews beforehand. It lives up to those reviews. Food, staff and atmosphere were all excellent. Really tasty curries. My wife and I opted for lamb dishes and the meat was beautifully tender. My mother in law, who's a vegetarian, was well catered for with plenty of choice. The manager took time out to have a chat with us after our meals. A very warm, friendly chap. We'll be back
Lovely Indian restaurant in a cute town! The people here were friendly and nice. I love that they warmed the plates and when we finished they even gave us warm napkins. The food were delicious. But the masala here is not spicy at all. If you want spicy curry, pick something else If you have no idea what to order, the staff will help you. The food here is affordable and tasty. Very satisfying. Highly recommended
Cracking Indian restaurant. Reasonably priced with good portions. Meats were tender and succulent and the sauces were packed full of flavour whether mild or spicy. Highly recommend.
Absolutely fantastic! We dined as a group of four at Mumbai of Alnwick and were delighted. The chicken and paneer shashlik were bursting with flavour, and the tarka daal was hands-down one of the best we’ve ever had. The staff and manager were warm, attentive, and clearly run a slick operation. Great atmosphere and service. Highly recommend dining in!
Need to say, we come from a part of the UK where there are many Indian restaurants. THIS ONE BEATS THEM ALL. Was a Friday evening and the place was full and buzzing - am guessing it's popular with locals and visitors alike. A lively vibrant atmosphere. The food was great, piping hot and well presented. Very reasonable prices. The staff were attentive, friendly, interested in where we were from and what our plans for the weekend were. We're not local but visit the area often and will definitely be back. Thanks.

The food was absolutely delicious all round and in particular the lamb was very tender. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Well priced for what you're getting. My partner and I would definitely come back if we ever visit Alnwick again
